IMPORTANT CONNECTION INFORMATION
A Connection Agreement must be submitted and approved before any digging on or connecting to the District’s water mains. Please contact the plant operators with any questions at (802) 221 – 3601.
A GICWD representative must be present for all digging on or connecting to District water mains.
– The new User (member of the District) will be responsible for all costs associated with installing their water service. These costs include but are not
limited to:
1) Obtaining permits and easements for the service line
2) Obtaining approved material for the service line
3) Obtaining approved personnel for tapping District water mains
4) Returning all District owned property to its original condition
5) A meter pit will be required for service lines that exceed 500 ft in length, mobile homes, or at the discretion of the District’s Operator
6) Service lines that cross town or state highways will require a sleeve.
– Service line material:
1) The service line shall be a minimum ¾ inch diameter
2) The service line shall be CTS pipe or copper pipe with at least a 200psi rating
3) The tapping saddle shall be dual banded with ss straps
4) The curb stop shall have a stainless steel rod
5) A tracer wire shall be installed from the corporation to the building
6) A meter and meter assembly will be provided by the District and shall be installed by a plumber
– Billing
1) Billing is done quarterly
2) Debt Service charges begin on approval of the connection agreement
3) Base Rate and Usage charges begin when the water is turned on.
